Description of the coat of arms: The shield is divided vertically into two parts; on the right, in a gold field, an outspread eagle's wing in black; on the left, in a green field, a Mercury's staff (caduceus) is placed, having silver wings at the top and entwined with two serpents of the same metal (silver). The shield is surmounted by an ordinary Baronial Crown, without a helmet. The mantling on the shield is black on the right side and green on the left, lined with gold and silver. Baron Ivan Fridrichs (Freedericksz), serving as Banker of the All-Russian Imperial Court, in recognition of his diligent efforts toward the better development of commerce and his many services rendered, was granted — on August 5, 1773, together with his descendants born and to be born hereafter — the dignity and honor of Baron of the All-Russian Empire. The Diploma conferring this dignity was issued on May 4, 1774, a copy of which is preserved in the Heraldry Office (Herol'diya).

Symbolism

The shield is divided vertically in two; the right field is gold with an outspread eagle's wing in black; the left part of the shield is green, bearing a golden Mercury's staff laid from left to right, having wings at the top and entwined with silver serpents, thereby signifying Fridrichs's (Freedericksz's) dedication to commerce. The shield is surmounted by an ordinary Baronial crown, without a helmet.
